OUR TOUR BOATS OFFER WARM, COMFORTABLE VIEWING YEAR ROUND.

Sunshine Coast Tour’s Boats

BEAUTIFUL SCENERY. OFFERED YEAR ROUND.

Sunshine Coast Tour’s programs run on “small passenger vessels”. This is a Transport Canada classification. An inspection process ( TC Blue Decal program) ensures the full compliment of safety equipment is available and serviced.

West Coast designed and built for all seasons, all weather!

You’ll not likely find anything better suited to the type of fast running we do. The design is specific to travel in the short, steep chop typical of our Inlets.  The boats are built in a traditional, tough, industrial style with a lot of noise control added. Noise level is measured at 64 db, slightly above “normal” conversation levels. The fiberglass construction is “warmer” and quieter than other materials. Inside seating is in a heated cabin laid out with visibility in mind. Outside seating is on lockers built at ergonomic sitting height. A portable gel cushion is available to take outside.

Keep in mind that at our cruising speeds you’re always better seated. It’s not a cruise ship that you can stroll around on. But it’s easy enough to get up and move about to change your vantage point to take photos or better view one of the many interesting features we stop at.

Maximum capacity in this classification is 12 passengers. Our tours enjoy the intimacy of this small size. Given the size and manouverability of our boats we can get in close to shore and view features as we travel.

There is no washroom on our boats. Generally the boats that fit this category are too small to include viable washrooms. That’s why we recommend trip plans with no more than 2 hours aboard before going ashore somewhere. That’s the case with our Princess Louisa Inlet tour. The first part of the day is 2 hours on the boat. Then your ashore in Princess Louisa Marine Park where you can stretch and use the outhouse.

Note: As well as being scheduled on regular tour departures, the boats are also available for private charters, group programs or transportation jobs.
On the tours a
lternate vessels from the ones shown here may be substituted.

BLine slices easily through afternoon chop in Jervis Inlet

MV B-LINE

RedLine, 12 passenger tour boat with passengers outside on back deck

M.V. RedLine

Sister ships MV BLine and MV RedLine are ideal small passenger vessels for the tour business. There is full compliment of seating (12 maximum for this class under Transport Canada rules) inside the heated cabin, as well as a passenger area outside on the back deck. Full length side windows of the cabin trunk allow good all around visibility from inside. Her back deck area is open, surrounded by handrails. You can move around, get unrestricted views and take that prize winning photograph.

These boats have a deep vee design that gives them excellent sea keeping characteristics and stability. The very low profile and center of gravity ensure stability in all normal weather conditions. Pound for pound, they are a pair of the very best boats available!

These boats are capable of carrying up to 4000 lbs of passenger or cargo. They cruise easily at 25 knots. Power is delivered by a D6 Volvo, 330 hp diesel engine and duo prop drive. In addition to the manufacturer’s noise reduction design considerations we have added sound proofing to reduce on board noise to a minimum. Inside cabin noise is measured at 65 db (level of normal conversation).
